Link to Screencast: http://screencast.com/t/iwLw7cosXaR
(Note: The Screencast loses audio throughout it, but it starts back up again where it left off, after a pause. No idea why or how to fix that. I would have embedded the Screencast here, but edublogs wouldn’t let me.)

I’ll know the wiki has been useful if I see my users adding resources to it and adding feedback about the resources on it. I’ll be looking to see if they use the resources and post comments about how they used them.

- I have introduced the wiki to my team by inviting them to join it (since it’s a private wiki) and explaining the purpose of the wiki in the invitation. Once I find out if it seems like something they’re actually interested in using and contributing to, then I’ll probably try to schedule an initial “barnraising” session so we can get the resources we all currently use onto the wiki as a starting point.
- I’m still waiting to see if any of the powers-that-be have a problem with the wiki.

- To support the site, I’ll use wikispaces.com.
- Customizations are minimal. I changed the background color and the color of the links, as well as added several new pages and a photo on the home page. I also set the permissions to private.
- The wiki is quite simple (and meant to be so), so I am happy with the way it turned out.

- When users visit the site, I want them to be able to find content and design resources that pertain to our math project. I also want them to be able to add resources that they know about, describe the resources, and when applicable, provide comments or feedback on other resources listed in the wiki.
- This wiki would be a recurring effort that would last until the end of the project, approximately 1 year from now.

- The users of my wiki will be the other ID’s I work with, as well as the Content Writers and Content Specialists on my team.
- I want my users to be able to find and share design and content resources, describe each resource they add, and comment on the resources.
- My users might not use the wiki because they might not know how to add or edit content, and they might not feel motivated since they’re all so busy already.
- Something similar to what I want to create can be found here: http://www.opencontent.org/wiki/index.php?title=Games_Multimedia_Materials

Hello! My name is Amy Rauen. Although I’m a member of the COMET cohort, I’m not actually a teacher. I’m a contract Instructional Designer and Content Writer in the K-12 industry. Currently, I’m working from home for a company called K12, designing 2nd grade web-based math curriculum. I recently published 13 supplemental math readers through Harcourt School Publishers, seven of which are now available on amazon.com. It’s very exciting to be published! In my spare time, I volunteer for a cat rescue organization and do massive amounts of homework.
I have no experience with blogs or podcasts. As for wikis, I’ve used wikipedia, but that’s the extent of it, so I’m really looking forward to what I’ll learn in this class.
My two ideas for a final project:
1. Create a wiki for the ID’s I work with that we can use to share resources we find for design ideas and inspiration.
2. Create a wiki for SDSU’s EDTEC students that we can use to compile and describe all the awesome technologies we know about. Many of us are familiar with technologies that others have never heard of, so this would be a great resource to go to when trying to determine which technologies are available and would be best for creating a certain product.
